Welcome to our romantic castle: a peaceful refuge situated on a forested cliff southwest of Coburg. The 13th century estate is home to a small, unique hotel with 15 rooms and suites, as well as historic event rooms. Bamberg is just a short distance away.
Pamper your palate with culinary delights at the gourmet restaurant Dittrich’s, with winter garden, or enjoy regional fare at the Schloss Schaenke restaurant, housed in a vaulted cellar. In fine weather our guests also enjoy dining outdoors, on the terrace of the castle courtyard.

From the South:
A 73 Nuremberg-Suhl – exit 11 Untersiemau, onto B 289, then B 4, exit to right onto B 303 toward Schweinfurt, pass Ahorn, then turn left toward Schafhof (Schlosspark Hohenstein), in Schafhof turn left and follow signage toward “Schlosspark“, in the forest turn left toward "Schloss Hohenstein" and "Reiterhof Hohenstein". B 4 Bamberg-Bruenn/Th. – exit B 303 toward Schweinfurt, pass Ahorn, continue as above.

From the North:
A 73 Suhl-Nuremberg – exit 7 Coburg toward B 4 Bamberg, follow until exit B 303 toward Schweinfurt, pass Ahorn, continue as above.

From the West:
B 303 – coming from Schweinfurt take the B 303, after Schorkendorf turn right toward Schafhof (“Schlosspark Hohenstein”), in Schafhof turn left and follow signage toward “Schlosspark”, in the forest turn left toward “Schloss Hohenstein" und "Reiterhof Hohenstein“.
